Wave Lombok
South Lombok bay from the air — three hours from Singapore

Lombok · For Singapore Travelers

Lombok from Singapore.

Three hours direct. Visa-free. Same time zone. The easiest premium beach break out of SG.

For Singapore-based travellers, Lombok is one of the easiest premium beach trips you can take. The direct flight is three hours. The time zone is the same as Singapore. Singapore passport holders enter visa-free. And the villa is set up for the kind of short, intentional stay that works on a long weekend.

You leave SIN Friday afternoon, you are at the villa for dinner. Saturday you surf, swim, eat well. Sunday you do the same again, or you do nothing. Monday morning you fly back and you are at your desk by mid-afternoon. We have a lot of Singapore guests who do this every few months.

Below is the practical guide — flight options, sample weekend itineraries, what to pack, and how Lombok compares to Bali from a Singapore perspective.

Direct flight

3 hrs

SIN → LOP nonstop (Scoot daily)

Visa

Free

ASEAN passport, 30 days visa-free

Time zone

Same

UTC+8 — no jet lag

Flight options

Three ways to get there.

Singapore (SIN) → Lombok (LOP) direct

~3 hours

The fastest option and what we recommend by default. Scoot flies daily in high season; Jetstar operates on certain weekends. Book hand-luggage only if you can — quicker turnaround on both ends. Total door-to-door from central SG to the villa: ~5.5 hours.

Scoot (daily), Jetstar (seasonal)

Singapore (SIN) → Bali (DPS) → Lombok (LOP)

~2.5h + 30min + layover

Common if you want to pair Bali with Lombok. SIN-DPS is 2.5 hours, then a 30-minute hop east to Lombok. Most travellers stop in Bali for 2-4 nights, then continue to Wave Lombok. Sometimes cheaper than the direct SIN-LOP flight.

Singapore Airlines, Scoot, Jetstar (SIN-DPS); Wings Air, Citilink, Super Air Jet (DPS-LOP)

Singapore (SIN) → Jakarta (CGK) → Lombok (LOP)

~2h + 2h + layover

Less common. Useful only if Jakarta is part of your itinerary or if SIN-LOP direct is sold out. The Bali routing is almost always better.

Singapore Airlines, Garuda (SIN-CGK); Garuda, Citilink, Lion, Batik (CGK-LOP)

Schedules change every season. Check Google Flights or Skyscanner for live availability. Message us if you want help picking the smoothest routing for your dates.

Sample itineraries

How Singaporeans book.

3 nights / 4 days

The Friday-to-Monday

Leave SIN Friday afternoon, land Lombok by 9pm, dinner at the villa. Saturday: morning surf at Selong Belanak or a beach day at Mawun, evening private chef dinner. Sunday: snorkel boat trip or lazy pool day. Monday morning flight back to SG, at your desk by mid-afternoon.

4 nights / 5 days

The long weekend

Adds one extra day for either a Tete Batu cultural day, a full-day boat trip to Pink Beach, or just nothing — read by the pool. Most popular configuration for SG-based families with kids.

7 nights

The full week off

Pace it out: surf days, beach days, an in-villa massage afternoon, a Sasak village visit, restaurant nights in Kuta. Most repeat SG guests come for 7 nights at a time.

7-10 nights

School holidays — June or December

SG school holidays in June and December are our two busiest windows for Singapore guests. Book 3-4 months ahead. The June break is dry-season ideal; December is wet season but rain comes in short afternoon bursts and rates are slightly lower outside peak Christmas week.

Bali vs Lombok

From a Singapore perspective.

Most Singaporeans know Bali well — short flight, deep restaurant scene, dependable hotels. We are not arguing against Bali. We are arguing that you should mix it up.

Bali wins on: variety of restaurants, nightlife, ease of getting around within Ubud/Seminyak/ Canggu, larger luxury hotel choice, deeper spa scene, more direct flights.

Lombok wins on: quieter beaches (south Lombok has nothing like the Canggu/Berawa crowds), less traffic, more privacy at the same price point, better surf for intermediate-to-advanced surfers, calmer family vibe, less commercialised culture. Same flight time from SG (3 hours direct vs 2.5 to Bali).

For a regular short break: Bali wins on convenience. For a family stay where everyone wants their own pool and beach: Lombok wins. For a surf trip: Lombok wins easily. For a couples weekend with design and quiet: Lombok wins. For a girls/guys trip with nightlife: Bali wins.

The combination most Singapore guests eventually land on: alternate. One Bali trip a year, one Lombok trip a year. Or, occasionally, both in the same fortnight — 3 nights Bali, 4 nights Lombok. The 30-minute Bali-Lombok hop is easy.

Practical for SG travellers

Visa, money, packing, and small things.

Visa. Singapore passport holders enter Indonesia visa-free for 30 days. No fee, no application. Passport needs 6+ months validity from arrival. Fill in the free electronic Customs Declaration on the plane or via QR code at LOP.

Time zone. WITA is UTC+8 — same as Singapore. Land, drop bags, swim. The biggest unspoken advantage of Lombok from SG is the lack of jet lag adjustment.

Money. The local currency is Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Bring an OCBC, DBS, or Wise card for ATM withdrawals at LOP arrivals — best rate. Credit cards accepted at our villa and most Kuta restaurants. Warungs and small venues are cash-only.

Power. Indonesia uses 230V, 50Hz with Type C/F plugs (two round pins). Same voltage as Singapore, different plug. Most Singaporean travel adapters cover it. SG-standard electronics work fine.

Cell service. Singtel and StarHub roaming both work in Lombok but plans are expensive — IDR 100-300k for a Telkomsel tourist SIM at LOP arrivals is much cheaper and gives better local coverage. Wi-Fi at the villa is reliable.

Food and water. Drinking water at the villa is filtered and safe. Bottled water everywhere else. Singapore-grade hygiene is standard at our partner restaurants in Kuta and Selong Belanak. For warungs, eat where the locals eat — the food is fresh and safe.

Frequently asked

Singaporeans ask.

How long does the flight from Singapore to Lombok take?

+

The direct Scoot flight from Singapore (SIN) to Lombok International Airport (LOP) is about 3 hours in the air. Adding airport processing on both ends, total door-to-door time from central Singapore to the villa is around 5.5 hours — flight + 40-minute drive from LOP.

Are there direct flights from Singapore to Lombok?

+

Yes. Scoot operates a daily nonstop flight from Singapore (SIN) to Lombok (LOP) in high season, typically morning or early afternoon. Jetstar operates seasonally on certain weekends. Check Google Flights or each airline for live availability and prices. Indirect routings via Bali (DPS) are also common.

Do Singapore passport holders need a visa for Indonesia?

+

No. ASEAN passport holders, including Singapore, enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days. No Visa on Arrival fee, no application required. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. Indonesia also requires a free electronic Customs Declaration before landing.

Is Lombok good for a long weekend from Singapore?

+

Yes — it is one of the best regional options. The 3-hour flight is shorter than a long-weekend trip to most parts of Indonesia or Thailand. You can leave SIN Friday after work and be at the villa by dinnertime. Most Singapore-based guests book 3-5 nights, returning Sunday evening or Monday morning. The villa is set up for short stays — we have everything you need ready when you arrive.

How does Lombok compare to Bali from a Singapore perspective?

+

Bali is closer, more polished, has more restaurants, and offers more nightlife. Lombok is quieter, less crowded, and the beaches are emptier — especially in the south where we are. For a regular weekend break, Bali wins on convenience. For peace, beach, surf, or family privacy, Lombok wins. Many Singaporeans alternate — Bali this quarter, Lombok next. Or do both in one trip: 3 nights Bali, 4 nights Lombok.

What is the time difference between Singapore and Lombok?

+

Lombok is in Indonesia Central Time (WITA, UTC+8) — the same as Singapore. No jet lag. Land at LOP, check in, swim. The lack of time-zone adjustment is a real reason short trips work better from Singapore than from anywhere else.

What should I pack from Singapore?

+

Most of what you bring to Bali, plus reef-safe sunscreen (harder to find in Lombok than Singapore), a wide-brim hat (the south coast sun is direct), a refillable water bottle (the villa supplies filtered water), and a light layer for cool evenings May-September. You probably already have a universal travel adapter — Indonesia uses Type C/F plugs, 230V (same voltage as SG).

Can I pay in Singapore dollars?

+

The local currency is Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Singapore dollars are not accepted at most venues, though Bluebird taxis and some hotels in Kuta will exchange. Bring an OCBC, DBS, or Wise card for ATM withdrawals at LOP arrivals — IDR comes out at the best available rate. Credit cards are accepted at our villa and most Kuta restaurants. Warungs and small venues are cash-only.
