What a week here actually costs.
Real numbers, including ours. Most sites are vague about money; we would rather you could plan.
Almost nobody publishes what a trip to South Lombok really costs. You find nightly rates, occasionally a flight price, and then a lot of hand-waving about how "affordable" Indonesia is. That is not much help when you are trying to decide whether a villa for eight is extravagant or actually sensible.
So here are the numbers. Our own prices are exact, because we charge them. Everything else is an honest range from what our guests report and what we pay locally — labelled as such, not dressed up as precision.

Putting it together
A week, for a group of eight.
Take Villa Selong Belanak in shoulder season at $410 a night — that is about $2870 for seven nights, breakfast and housekeeping included. Add two SUV airport transfers at IDR 400,000 each, a private chef dinner one evening, a massage each for four of you, and a surf lesson for the children.
That lands somewhere around USD 3,600 to 4,200 for the week before international flights and before eating out — call it USD 450 to 525 per person for a group of eight. Do the same in high season and you are closer to $5285 for the villa alone.
The pattern most guests find: the villa is the big number, and it is the one that gets cheaper the more of you there are. Everything on the ground — food, drivers, massages, lessons — costs less than the equivalent in southern Bali.

The money questions.
What does a week in South Lombok actually cost? +
For a family or group of eight to ten sharing a villa, plan on roughly USD 4,000 to 6,500 for seven nights excluding international flights — that is the villa, airport transfers, daily breakfast, eating out, a driver on a few days, and two or three experiences. In low season the same week can come in nearer USD 3,000. Split across four to five couples it is usually less per head than a mid-range hotel room each, because the villa cost is fixed and the group divides it.
How much is the villa itself per night? +
Villa Serangan runs from USD 350 per night in low season to about USD 970 at Christmas, New Year and major event weeks, sleeping 10. Villa Selong Belanak runs from USD 285 to about USD 755, sleeping 8. Daily breakfast and daily housekeeping are included in both. Booking direct is our best rate.
What is included in the nightly rate, and what is extra? +
Included: daily breakfast cooked fresh to order from our menu, daily housekeeping, Wi-Fi, the private infinity pool, parking and night security. Extra: airport transfers, a private chef, massages, surf lessons, boat trips, excursions, and anything you drink beyond what comes with breakfast. There is no service charge and no management company taking a cut.
How much should we budget for food? +
Breakfast is included every day. Beyond that, a meal at one of the three restaurants within a five-minute walk typically runs USD 8 to 20 a head, and a local warung considerably less. A private chef dinner at the villa is IDR 825,000 for up to five guests or IDR 1,325,000 for six to ten, plus ingredients — often close to the price of eating out once you are a group of eight, with nobody driving afterwards.
Do we need to hire a car? +
Most guests do not. Three restaurants are within a five-minute walk, the beach is two minutes down our own path, and we arrange transfers and drivers for day trips. If you want independence, scooters are widely available locally and a driver for the day is straightforward to book through us. Selong Belanak beach is about ten minutes away, Kuta and the Mandalika circuit about thirty-five.
Is Lombok cheaper than Bali? +
On the ground, generally yes — food, drivers, massages and activities all cost less in South Lombok than in Seminyak or Canggu, and the beaches are far emptier. Getting here costs a little more, since most routes connect through Bali, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. For a week or longer the on-the-ground saving usually outweighs the extra flight leg.
